The short answer
On Polymarket, geopolitics and world-events markets have no trading fee. Every other category pays a fee on instant trades: 0.07 for crypto, 0.05 for sports, esports, economics, culture, weather and other markets, 0.04 for politics, finance, tech and mentions. On any market, a limit order that waits for its price pays nothing, and there is no Polymarket fee to deposit, withdraw or collect a win.

What else has no fee
- Limit orders that wait. An order at your own price that someone else takes later pays nothing, on every market, and gets a share of the fees paid by the other side.
- Winning payouts. A winning share pays $1; nothing is taken at the end (does Polymarket take a cut of winnings?).
- Deposits and withdrawals. Polymarket charges nothing; the network or an exchange you send from may.
The geopolitics rumour
In October 2026 posts on X said that Polymarket had quietly started charging fees on geopolitics markets. Polymarket’s fee page on 11 October 2026 still lists geopolitics and world events as fee-free, as it has since fees came to almost every category on 30 March 2026. If that changes, the date at the top of this page will change too.
One exception to watch
Apps and bots that send orders to Polymarket for you can add their own fee, up to 1% of the trade, even on markets where Polymarket charges nothing (Polymarket documentation for such apps). On polymarket.com itself there is no such extra.
