Measured from Polymarket’s own public trade data for each app on 15 October 2026 (up to 900 recent trades per app, for the 30 apps with the most trading in the last month), compared with the rate Polymarket lists for each app and with what the apps say on their own sites. Checked against Polymarket’s documentation for apps and MetaMask’s help page.
The short answer
Apps that send your orders to Polymarket can add their own fee on top of Polymarket’s. Of the 30 most used apps on 15 October 2026, 14 added nothing. The rest added 0.05% to 1% of each trade, and two added 4%: MetaMask and RedotPay. The app’s fee is paid even where Polymarket’s own fee is small, such as on favourites near $1.

Each figure is the app’s fee as a share of the trade, on top of Polymarket’s fee. Two sources agree on all 30: the fee on the app’s recent trades in Polymarket’s data, and the rate Polymarket lists for the app. “App states it”: Yes — the app publishes the same rate; Says free — the app’s own pages say it is free or show only a subscription; No — we found no rate from the app; “—” — not checked. Users are as Polymarket lists them for the last month. An app can change its fee, so check the date above.
What the apps say themselves
- Same rate, published by the app: MetaMask, PolyCop, polymtrade, almanac.market, chainui and protrade.tech. betmoar says it charges nothing, and its rate is 0.
- Advertised as free: Sharktool’s site says it costs nothing, traderline says “free”, and SpreadCore lists only subscriptions. All three still have a fee on each trade in Polymarket’s data: 0.05% to 0.1%. traderline’s terms mention a per-order fee without giving the rate.
- Exceptions the apps describe: polymtrade charges nothing to holders of 1 million of its own tokens. protrade.tech pays part of the fee back daily as cashback, and nothing above $600,000 of monthly volume. almanac.market pays its daily fee pool back to active, profitable traders.
What it adds up to
A $100 instant buy at 50¢ on a sports market pays Polymarket $2.50 (200 shares × 0.05 × 0.50 × 0.50). On top of that:
- An app at 0.5% adds $0.50: $3.00 in all.
- An app at 1% adds $1.00: $3.50 in all.
- An app at 4% adds $4.00: $6.50 in all.
At 90¢ Polymarket’s fee on the same $100 drops to $0.50, while a 4% app fee is still $4.00.
MetaMask and RedotPay: 4%
MetaMask’s help page says you pay a 4% transaction fee to MetaMask and Polymarket on any trade, and that Polymarket also adds its own variable fee to instant trades. In Polymarket’s data the 4% is the app’s part, on top of Polymarket’s fee, for both MetaMask and RedotPay; limit orders carry no app fee for either. Polymarket’s documentation for apps describes lower limits, 1% on instant trades and 0.5% on limit orders, so check the fee in the app you use.
What it did on three real wallets: how much the app took.
How we measured
Polymarket publishes the trades sent by each app, with the app’s fee on its own line, and lists the rate each app has set. We took up to 900 recent trades per app and divided the app’s fee by the size of the trade, then compared it with the listed rate: they matched for all 30 apps. We also read each app’s own site and help pages. The same fee appears in each trade’s public record, together with Polymarket’s fee and a code that names the app: that is how the free check splits the two on your wallet. More on the two fees: trading through an app or bot.
Questions
What fee does MetaMask charge on Polymarket trades?
4% of each trade, on top of Polymarket’s fee, as MetaMask’s help page says and Polymarket’s trade data shows (15 October 2026).
Which Polymarket apps charge no fee?
On 15 October 2026, 14 of the 30 most used apps added nothing, among them betmoar, Gate and Tailgate. The table above lists all 30.
Is the app’s fee in Polymarket’s fee?
It is in the same number in each trade’s public record, and Polymarket’s fee total for your account includes it. The free check shows the two parts apart.
Does an app charge a fee on markets where Polymarket charges none?
It can. On fee-free markets such as geopolitics, you pay only the app’s fee, if it has one.
