Checked against Polymarket’s documentation for apps on 13 October 2026.
The short answer
Yes, you can pay two fees. Apps, terminals and bots that send your orders to Polymarket may add their own fee on top of Polymarket’s: up to 1% of the trade when your order trades at once, and up to 0.5% when it waits. Polymarket’s fee is charged as usual. An app can charge its fee even on markets where Polymarket charges nothing.

How the two fees add up
A $100 instant buy at 50¢ on a sports market:
- Polymarket’s fee: 200 shares × 0.05 × 0.50 × 0.50 = $2.50.
- An app fee of 1%: $100 × 1% = $1.00.
- Together: $3.50 on one trade. At 90¢, Polymarket’s fee drops to $0.50, but a 1% app fee is still $1.00.
Polymarket’s own fee is largest at middle prices and small near $1. An app fee in percent of the trade stays the same at every price, so on favourites it can be the bigger of the two.
The rules for app fees
- Each app sets its own rate: up to 1% on trades that go through at once, up to 0.5% on orders that wait.
- The app fee is always added on top of Polymarket’s fee; it does not replace it.
- An app can change its rate at most once every 7 days, and a change takes effect 3 days after it is set.
- Each app’s rates are public in Polymarket’s data. How the app shows them to you is up to the app.

What to check in an app
- The app’s own fee, in percent, for instant trades and for orders that wait.
- Whether the app shows the total cost before you trade: price, Polymarket’s fee and its own fee.
- What access it needs. An app that trades for you needs access to your funds. polyfees never asks for keys, a login or a wallet connection; our check reads only public records.
Questions
Do I pay Polymarket’s fee if I trade through another app?
Yes. Polymarket’s fee is charged on every instant trade, whatever app sends the order, and the app may add its own fee of up to 1% on top.
Can an app charge a fee on markets where Polymarket charges none?
Yes. On fee-free markets, such as geopolitics, you pay only the app’s fee, if it has one.
Does the free check include app fees?
The free check counts Polymarket’s own fee on each trade, to the cent. A fee taken by an app is separate, and we don’t count it yet.
